Job purpose This position is responsible for performing assigned engineering and project management tasks pertaining to product development, system design, system installation, troubleshooting, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical, or equivalent technical and industrial/manufacturing environment both for similar applications and customers.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in engineering or technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines or turbines along with experience in the design of emission control systems or exhaust systems.
  • Possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage time, and handle working on multiple projects/tasks at once in a fast-past environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and/or assist in the engineering of emission control equipment and systems for stationary engines, gas turbines, power plant boilers, and chemical & industrial processes. Engineering projects in support of the CAS Business Development area are also included.
  • Develop and/or assist in the development of new emission control products or subassemblies as a project team leader or team member.
  • Participate in the development and execution of product testing protocols to ensure the product or system meets the design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Prepare project reports, equipment specifications, bid requests, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Provides timely project updates to management and project customer(s) and adheres to the project schedules.
  • Prepares and/or reviews & approves purchase requisitions, bid tabulations, vendor specifications, internal & external designs and drawings, as required.
  • Instruct and supervise the work of designers or engineers within the department as it pertains to the engineer’s projects.
  • Correlate project documentation (i.e. turnover package) and equipment drawings for effective handover to internal and external customers.
  • Works closely with vendors throughout the design and fabrication process to ensure product is manufactured to design specifications
  • Creates purchase requisitions for new and replacement parts of emission control systems.
  • Works with JM finance and product supply to closeout financial segment of assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and/or supervise the field installations of systems.
  • Provide a high level of customer support and service for JM systems including the installation and start-up, preparation of operating manuals, troubleshooting, and training.
  • Supports warranty and customer claim activities through the claim support system.
  • Develops strong working relationships with customers and sales channels.
  • Ensures adherence to business/JM EHS/regulatory standards within multiple projects and is active at following EHS standards.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Comply with JM company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
