Who are we looking for? We are looking for an Applications Engineer to support the commercial expansion of MacDermid Alpha products into the Power Electronics market in the United States, with a primary focus on the USA, by assisting laboratory functions at our Piscataway, New Jersey facility.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering; experience with specialty chemicals applications.
  • Application Testing Skills : Ability to design and conduct experiments, interpret results, and recommend solutions.
  • Customer Support : Experience providing technical assistance and troubleshooting in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Data Analysis : Proficiency in analyzing performance data and preparing technical reports.
  • Communication Skills : Ability to create clear documentation and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Project Management : Skilled in managing application projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge : Familiarity with end-use markets such as electronics, coatings, adhesives, or polymers.
  • Education & Experience : Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; prior experience in applications engineering or technical service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support product development : Collaborate with R&D scientists to ensure new products meet application requirements.
  • Conduct application testing : Perform lab and pilot-scale evaluations to validate product performance in customer-specific conditions.
  • Provide technical support : Assist customers and sales teams with product selection, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Develop application guidelines : Create technical documentation, best practices, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally : Work with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing to align product capabilities with market needs.
  • Analyze performance data : Interpret test results and provide recommendations for product improvements or application enhancements.
  • Participate in customer trials : Support on-site evaluations and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends : Monitor emerging technologies and application requirements to inform R&D priorities.
