Lighting Services Inc is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as a key technical resource supporting sales teams, specifiers, representatives, and clients. This role strengthens LSI’s public-facing technical presence through expert guidance, product education, and high quality technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of track lighting and specification grade products.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting technical information.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate technical content and documentation.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in lighting, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • High-energy individual with a positive attitude and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with photometric data, TM 30, IES files, and related analysis (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive technical support for clients, specifiers, and sales teams.
  • Evaluate specification requirements and develop clear technical recommendations.
  • Produce feasibility analyses, photometric studies, TM 30 reports, IES files, and supporting documentation.
  • Interpret architectural and electrical drawings and assist with material take offs when needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver product training for internal teams and external partners.
  • Support project workflows by contributing to quoting, documentation, and submittal packages.
  • Maintain organization and readiness of LSI’s photometric testing facilities.
  • Participate in industry events and stay current with lighting standards and technologies.
