Application specific MCU industrial (ASM-IND) product line offers a broad range of high performance, innovative and cost-effective specialized MCUs for a wide range of applications across Motor control and Digital power. We enable powering next generation AI datacenters, provide motor control solutions for Humanoids, robotics, etc., build AI solutions for predictive diagnostics, improve performance, control and optimize energy efficiency. We are looking for an application engineer who has the passion and excitement to continuously learn, innovate, take an active role in solving real time control. It is a fast paced, results driven environment requiring Microcontroller knowledge, system level understanding, software development, Motor control algorithms and system hardware skillsets. You will collaborate with worldwide accounts to solve their system challenges, enable them to go to market faster, work with marketing and business leadership to develop strategic technical solutions to enable TI business growth and impact the next generation of products.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • 3 years of application/system engineering experience
  • Motor control algorithm development
  • Strong knowledge of Microcontrollers
  • Experience in embedded C software development
  • Solid hardware and software debugging skills

Nice To Haves

  • PHD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Drive Systems
  • Hands-on experience working in motor control algorithm development
  • Knowledge on Matlab, Simulink and Plexim for simulation and model-based code generation
  • Digital control system design
  • Familiarity with field bus communication
  • Power electronic system design
  • Knowledge on functional safety, security and artificial intelligence
  • Ability to review schematics and PCB layout using CAD tools
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop sensored and sensor less motor control algorithms to enable – faster response, Smoother speed, less acoustic noise
  • Own specific IP’s – write technical reference manual, resolve customer issues through E2E platform and field engagement
  • Participate in customer calls to understand system requirements and help select the right devices and reference designs
  • Support customer design-in activities by: Adapting our system reference solutions to their custom hardware design.
  • Meet customer across the globe to promote our technical benefits and resolve technical issues / Debug
  • Schematic and layout review of customer solutions for our device
  • Help with software porting, optimize software to improve performance.
  • Resolve production stop issues for customers
  • Design EVM and internal evaluation boards to support evaluation activities of new products.
  • Train Field Applications Engineers and customers on ASM Microcontrollers and reference designs
  • Write application notes and training collateral that explain features, implementation of motor control on ASM Microcontrollers.
