The ADI Power uModule Team is seeking a motivated and experienced Applications Engineering Intern to support our in our San Jose office. This role offers the chance to collaborate with top-tier engineers, contributing to cutting-edge research, development, and technical support for industry-leading power module products.

Requirements

  • BSEE with working knowledge of power electronics.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing electronics circuits.
  • Background in analog circuits and power electronics, particularly switching-mode power converters and their topologies.
  • Experience in improving converter performance.
  • Experience with circuit design and simulation tools such as PSPICE, LTspice, Simplis, LTpowerCAD, MathCAD, OrCAD, etc.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MSEE
  • Hands-on experience in designing and optimizing switching-mode power supplies.
  • Familiarity with analog IC design.
  • Knowledge of firmware, DSP, or FPGA programming, as well as I2C/PMbus communication protocols.
  • Experience in advanced design and simulation such as thermal simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting new product investigations
  • Enhancing performance through evaluation, optimization, and testing.
  • Improve converter and system performance across broad applications (industrial, datacom, ATE, automotive, etc.).
  • Developing and refining design and simulation models, tools, and circuits.
  • Support and interact with marketing, field, and customers with technical expertise.
  • Creating technical documentation, presentations, and training materials.
