About The Position

SunSource and its family of companies represent 200+ locations and 3,000+ employees making up one of North America's leading value-add industrial distribution companies. We provide customers with products and solutions within Fluid Power, Fluid Process, Fluid Conveyance, General Industrial Components, and Industrial Service & Repair. We are currently seeking an experienced Application Engineer that will work remotely to support our customer base in central Iowa. The focus for this position is to provide value added services that will enhance the salability of SunSource products as a system. You will accomplish this by interfacing with customers and vendors to resolve system conflicts including electrical and hydraulic systems.

Requirements

• 2 year technical degree in Fluid Power or Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 2+ years Application Engineering or support experience with hydraulic and or electrical systems
• SolidWorks Cad design program
• Able to interpret and create hydraulic schematics

Responsibilities

• Design complete hydrostatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and testing
• Provide technical assistance with micro controllers including systems design and programming
• Provide training to internal associates and customer
• Technically support all Mobile products
• Interface with our customers and vendors to resolve system conflicts including electrical and hydraulic systems
• Produce electrical and hydraulic schematics using a CAD program
• Provide technical testing for hydraulic/hydrostatic systems using data acquisition tools
• Provide technical testing for electrical systems using frequency generators and VO meters
• Improve customer relationships using a technical viewpoint
• Interest in machine electronic control
