COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Applications team, focusing on pre-sales and post-sales support for users of the COMSOL® software. This role is pivotal in helping customers simulate their innovations and ideas, particularly in the fields of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), heat transfer, and chemical species transport. The successful candidate will possess a solid educational background in engineering or a scientific discipline, coupled with experience in simulating technical applications. As part of the team, you will be expected to enhance your technical proficiency in various scientific and engineering areas, enabling you to provide effective support to COMSOL's users. In the pre-sales phase, you will be responsible for qualifying leads and supporting prospective customers by demonstrating clear and understandable simulation examples tailored to their specific applications. This involves showcasing the capabilities of the COMSOL® software during web-based workshops, marketing events, and customer meetings. Your role will also require a willingness to travel occasionally to engage with current and potential customers across North and South America, facilitating COMSOL-sponsored events and activities. Post-sales, you will provide technical support to customers utilizing the COMSOL® software for their fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical species transport applications. This includes identifying and initiating further sales opportunities with existing customers, collaborating with colleagues and other departments to enhance customer satisfaction and software utilization. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and mentoring new applications engineers, technical account managers, and sales engineers. This will involve running introductory training courses and specialized sessions on computational fluid dynamics and related topics, fostering a collaborative environment to develop technical knowledge and skills within the team.
