About The Position

The Applications Architect III</b> is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise -grade, cloud -native applications that support organizational and business objectives. This role provides technical leadership throughout the full application lifecycle, from architectural conception through implementation and optimization. The architect works independently on complex initiatives and may lead or direct the work of other technical staff. The position requires deep expertise in modern application architecture, cloud platforms, and distributed systems, with a strong emphasis on scalability, security, and performance. This role operates within an enterprise environment supporting mission -critical systems.

Requirements

  • 8 years experience in applications architecture or software development roles.
  • 8 years experience with Java EE, Spring Boot, and microservices frameworks.
  • 8 years of hands -on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Google) and containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 8 years experience in API design and integration, including REST and GraphQL.
  • 8 years experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • 8 years experience applying security best practices for cloud -native applications.
  • 8 years experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • 8 years experience designing and implementing event -driven architectures and messaging systems.
  • 8 years experience with serverless computing and cloud -native services.
  • 8 years experience applying Domain -Driven Design (DDD) to model complex business domains.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, when requested and pre -approved.
  • Candidates must currently reside in Texas and be local to the Austin area within a 50 -mile radius.

  • 8 years experience with observability and monitoring tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.

  • 3 years experience holding or working toward cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • 3 years experience working with Texas or other state eligibility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of cloud -native, enterprise -scale applications.
  • Direct application development efforts from initial concept through deployment.
  • Design and evolve microservice -based and distributed system architectures.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high -performance technical solutions.
  • Apply Domain -Driven Design (DDD) principles to model complex business domains.
  • Ensure adherence to modern architectural standards, including 12 -Factor App methodology.
  • Implement best practices for application scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to align architecture with business goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to associated development staff.
  • Ensure architectural decisions support long -term system performance and sustainability.
