About The Position

The Applications Analyst’s role will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of the firm’s legal software applications. They are responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions that support the firm's legal and business processes. Their expertise will help enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve overall efficiency.       Salary in the range of $100,000 - $140,000 dependent on location and experience level

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required or 3-5 years of equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Functional and technical knowledge and experience with accounting software solutions. Ideally 3 or more years of enterprise level accounting software analysis or equivalent functional subject matter expertise.
  • Strong general knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems (PC and Server) including all administration-level functions.
  • Strong authoring or development experience with T-SQL, SSRS, Power BI or other report design and visualization tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and software testing.
  • Excellent customer service and written/spoken communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the legal or professional services industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Shared responsibility for the planning, design, development, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Manage compatibility and interoperability of applications.
  • Ongoing review and analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of applications. Result in developing strategies to further leverage and improve these applications.
  • Conduct research into software products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.
  • Maintain and monitor performance of existing software and applications across the organization.
  • Learn technical and functional aspects of software applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Collaborate with accounting department leads and training staff to assess application training needs and objectives.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes.
  • Field incoming request tickets from end-users to resolve application and software issues within assigned applications or databases and properly document interactions.
  • Thoroughly document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken through to final resolution.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
