The Application Engineer will ensure that software applications are effectively developed, implemented, integrated, and maintained. They need strong attention to detail and the ability to approach a problem from an 'outside the box' perspective while maintaining IT best practices. Application Engineers will need to maintain a working understanding of all critical Student Systems (SIS, CRM, LMS) and their integrations with each other, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues within each of these systems. They must maintain an understanding of IT best practices around user security and the data held within each system, and continually operate within this understanding.

  • Analyze and interpret system requirements to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for systems, processes, and integrations to support team understanding and continuity.
  • Manage SQL Server security, including adding/removing logins and assigning permissions.
  • Power Apps development, including building apps and creating custom connectors to various data sources.
  • Develop clear, concise, and effective unit tests to validate functionality.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, offering support to teammates as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members and relevant stakeholders when responses or escalations are required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
  • Configure firewall rules.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application engineers, analysts, and business users, to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs.
  • Proactively monitor error notifications and other alerts from Power Automate flows or Azure alerts.
  • Investigate root causes of failures or issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation of recurring issues and contribute to process improvements to reduce future errors.
  • Create and manage elevated privilege accounts.
  • Manage tenant access, including user additions and permission settings.
  • Apply security best practices in Azure, SQL Server, and Power Platform environments to ensure compliance and data protection.
  • Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and data issues across platforms quickly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with version control and deployment practices (e.g., using Azure DevOps or Git) for managing code and configuration changes.
  • Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and platforms, particularly within Microsoft.
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills with an analytical mind, attention to detail, a problem-solving aptitude, practice humility, honesty, transparency, have a drive to constantly improve, as a self-starter & self-directed.
  • Must be able to define tasks, & work cooperatively with other teams to accomplish those tasks, while managing & reporting on multiple task queues.
  • Understanding of RDBMS.
  • Understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts and configurations.
  • Familiarity with the Dynamics 365 CRM platform and customization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Boot Camp or Graduate level education preferred. Certifications accepted in lieu of formal education.
  • Charis Bible College graduate is preferred.
