We are seeking a skilled Application Systems Analyst Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical and programming expertise, with a focus on maintaining and optimizing system functionalities. Primary responsibilities will include technical and functional support for our ERP & CRM systems. Additionally, this position will oversee server-related tasks involving operational processes to ensure the smooth functionality of all college data interfaces.

  • Technical & functional lead for Ellucian Banner ERP and related 3rd party products or systems. Includes configuration, support, upgrades, & migrations for CRM Recruit, CRM Advise, DegreeWorks, Banner Document Management, Blackboard, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Banner ERP, as well as assisting staff and faculty with Banner-related issues.
  • Serves as the technical implementation lead and support for existing or new 3rd party software, applications, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Assess the business process needs of end users and develop strategies, systems, or processes to meet identified needs.
  • Maintain and update existing programs, code, and systems. Includes debugging code, recommending system software modifications and changes to hardware configurations.
  • Manage API connections and middleware to enable seamless data flow across systems.
  • Maintains and develops Linux/Unix shell scripts and SQL/PL SQL code to support automated system processes or file creation. Includes creation, execution, and monitoring of crontab jobs.
  • Identify and resolve server-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Collaborate with system administrators to diagnose and address hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Assist the IT team with project planning, integration automation and task management.
  • Create & maintain thorough system and process documentation for applications, systems, & interfaces.
  • Serve as the co-chair of the Banner Power Users Committee. Objectives include promoting shared data governance, security, and data integrity.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years working experience in IT system support and/or database management
  • Proficiency with PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Microsoft Powershell, and Linux Shell.
  • Experience with relational database design.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Unix/Linux OS environment, as well as Windows OS environment.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders & across various levels of the college community (staff, faculty, students, administrators, vendors).
  • Able to multi-task yet maintain close attention to detail and timeliness of work production.
  • Knowledge of data security standards and compliance requirements in higher education.
  • Knowledge of FERPA and state laws concerning student privacy and data security.
  • 2-3 years of prior technical or functional experience with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP system.
  • Higher education experience.
  • Experience working in a customer service orientated field.
