About The Position

CGI is looking for an Application Support Engineer PROD support engineer to join our offshore SRC support team. The engineer will manage application / production support activities for a large US banking client. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Provide L2/L3 production support for business-critical mainframe applications following ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management within SLA commitments. . Perform batch job monitoring and scheduling using tools such as Control-M / CA7 / TWS; analyze and resolve job failures, abends, and data processing issues. . Handle minor development and maintenance tasks including code fixes, enhancements, unit testing, and technical validation prior to implementation. . Manage change requests with impact analysis, implementation, and post-deployment verification in coordination with release and configuration management teams. . Participate in bridge calls and major incident management calls, providing timely technical updates and coordinating with infrastructure, database, middleware, and business stakeholders. . Support SIT and UAT activities including test execution, defect tracking, and validation to ensure stability and quality of releases. . Prepare and publish daily/weekly application health, batch status, incident, and SLA reports for client and management communication. . Maintain operational documentation, run books, and knowledge base articles to support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Application Support / Production Support and Application Maintenance with exposure to development and enhancement activities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with log analysis and troubleshooting using JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM in production and non-production environments.
  • Overall 7+ years of experience in application Development / Support, Configurations, installation, and Engineering.
  • Experience in managing business critical applications.
  • Experience in identifying critical issues and troubleshooting them before causing any business impact.
  • Knowledge on ATLASSIAN products like Jira and Confluence.
  • Able to create documentation like KB articles, SOP's & release procedures.
  • Knowledge on incident management tool like ServiceNow, Remedy etc.
  • Demonstrated abilities in Integration of application with database and Web Services.
  • Strong problem solving and technical Skills coupled with confident decision making enabling effective solutions leading to high customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in working with different Vendors.
  • Experience with Linux, Unix and Databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in troubleshooting issues across distributed environments involving application servers, databases, middleware, and integrations through log analysis and debugging will be added advantage.
  • Good understanding of distributed systems and integrations with mainframe (APIs, middleware, file transfers), and experience in monitoring and supporting end-to-end application flows.
