The Application Support Analyst, at the direction of the Technology Director, performs primary application support and training for the statewide District Attorneys’ Prosecutor Case Management System (PCMS) and other DAC core applications. Under general supervision and with high-level technical expertise, the Application Support Analyst will monitor day-to-day operation of the PCMS and other in-house and COTS applications. Application Support Analyst will work with stakeholders and vendors to improve performance, ensure consistency, and initiate platform-appropriate change control processes.

  • Performs tasks as assigned by the Technology Director and/or Applications Support Team Lead.
  • Interfaces with system users to understand and document business requirements, solves operational problems, and delivers quality solutions.
  • Develops, plans, and delivers formal and informal end user training.
  • Prepares technical/procedural documentation.
  • Customizes application software installations to meet requirements for system operation, security, and appearance.
  • Maintains database code tables for correct and efficient operation of the systems.
  • Performs necessary statute table updates as required by District Attorneys.
  • Performs on-site training and set-up of the PCMS application at district locations, including loading reference tables and user accounts.
  • Conducts continuous programming of standard legal document templates to comply with state law and user requests.
  • Develops and maintains custom reports to meet district attorney requirements.
  • Performs configuration, maintenance, and other tasks related to the SQL database.
  • Performs ad-hoc SQL queries, as needed.
  • Acts as liaison with other entities regarding PCMS data interface issues.
  • Works with software vendor to research and report PCMS software issues and problems, and communicates enhancement requests from IT Division customers.
  • Coordinates support activities with other application support analyst(s), database administrator, and system administrator under direction of the IT Director.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as related to information technology systems.
  • 1-2 years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related technical field.
  • A degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or two years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis as follows: graduation from high school or equivalent and four years working in relevant area of expertise.
  • Experience in System support and configuration.
  • Experience in Report Writing.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Velocity, Python, PowerShell.
  • Experience in writing SQL statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a smart, intentional approach to tasks (highly preferred).
  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment, balancing on-demand support for issues as they arise with an orderly approach to non-emergent tasks.
