Knowledge Services is seeking an Application Support Analyst (mainframe) for a 12-month project (potential for extension) in support of the State of North Dakota. Applicants MUST HAVE proficiency in mainframe technologies, including ADABAS database management and NATURAL programming Local/Hybrid work model is preferred, but a remote may be considered Please note that we cannot accept any candidates requiring C2C or those requiring sponsorship for a work visa Responsibilities: Application Support Analyst Overview: • The State of North Dakota Information Technology Department is looking for an Application Support Analyst to provide system analysis and support for IT applications, ensuring smooth operations and assisting with enhancements as needed. This role focuses on application troubleshooting, user support, and coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Analyze business processes and application functionality to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide day-to-day support for IT systems, including issue resolution and user assistance.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers and other IT staff within HHS and NDIT to implement changes or enhancements.
  • Assist with testing and validation of application updates.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding system performance and changes.
  • Coordinate work with NDIT technical staff to meet state IT standards and requirements.
  • Participate in project work as directed by the program manager and as assigned by the project management team, the approved project plans, and the approved project schedules.
  • 5+ years' experience in application support and system analysis or related IT roles.
  • Proficiency in mainframe technologies, including ADABAS database management and NATURAL programming.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications and the data workflows that connect them.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications and complex data workflows.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data queries and reporting.
  • Familiarity with batch processing, job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M), and data integration processes.
  • Understanding of incident management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience consulting or providing operational support for a state government system.
