About the position

St. Charles Community College (SCC) is seeking an Application Analyst who will work closely with leadership and business experts across the institution to identify and implement solutions and changes that support the students, staff, and faculty at St. Charles Community College. The role involves providing functional expertise for SCC's Student Information System and related applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the functional departments and technology teams and be able to translate technical offerings into functional-level features.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships across functional areas.
  • Manage system issues impacted by and impacting operation units, and non-academic support units.
  • Document system functionality, including procedure and process changes.
  • Manage multiple initiatives/projects across functional areas/departments and keep stakeholders up to date on results.
  • Manage project issues and ensure project tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Provide functional training for the College's systems and applications.
  • Ensure that the system and processes associated with the College's systems and applications are properly used and able to meet the reporting needs of the institution.
  • Work with internal technical staff and/or vendors to resolve issues.
  • Research and investigate technology changes and other events which impact administrative systems.
  • Comply with IT procedure for reporting child pornography on SCC equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; supplemented with two 2 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and exhibiting leadership skills to drive results.
  • Ability to analyze complicated problems and provide resolutions.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to work under strict timelines.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience with higher education information systems (e.g., Anthology Student).
