Sandvik Machining Solutions USA, LLC, headquartered in Mebane, North Carolina, is looking for an Application Specialist (Job Code R0085343) Your performance areas: The Application Specialist position is responsible for providing technical sales support and solutions to customers for Sandvik’s line of metal cutting tool products. Key responsibilities include: Develop opportunities to meet company’s sales growth goals and provide application solutions. Collaboratively support Sandvik’s Account Managers to maximize and extend business opportunities. Assist customers to recognize the value of utilizing Sandvik’s cutting tools and technology to support machining operations for precision machined parts and engine part manufacturing. Ensure Sandvik cutting tools are correctly implemented and deployed. Coordinate and organize interaction between technical and commercial departments as well as relevant distributor services for projects. Introduce and provide technical support for new cutting tool products and services to customers. Apply technical knowledge of cutting tool technology to recommend cutting tool products and services that fit and serve the customer’s business needs and to suggest and implement solutions. Develop and deliver training to educate internal employees, external partners, and customers on cutting tool technology and product features for precision machined parts. Address complex technical questions regarding Sandvik products, systems, and services. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise. Arrange for testing of applications and customer-specific components. Drive new ways of working and future technology to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled and profitable business is gained. Provide first-class customer service and recommend appropriate products to maximize Sandvik’s market share and profitable business. Lead customer projects from start to finish alongside the customer Account Manager. Ensure post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and customer training. Communicate with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure products and services are modified, configured, and installed per customer needs. Monitor competitors’ landscape and alternative solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
