About The Position

The Application Specialist - Paving & Material Processing serves as a technical expert who bridges the gap between product capabilities and customer needs. This role plays a crucial part in driving sales, enhancing product adoption and ensuring customer satisfaction through hands-on support and education. The ideal candidate will be both mechanically proficient and highly analytical, capable of advising on the best practices to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • Strong knowledge of paving equipment, processing systems, and construction site workflows
  • Strong understanding of material properties, gradation curves, and sizing screens
  • Ability to interpret material analysis reports and production data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanical or civil engineering background preferred; field experience is a strong asset
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work in outdoor or construction environments
  • Strong ability to self-manage the workload and priorities
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet company driving requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OEM crushing and screening equipment (e.g., Metso, Sandvik, Powerscreen, Kleemann)
  • Technical certifications or formal training in heavy equipment or process engineering

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on crushing and screening applications, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, impactors, scalpers, and finishing screens
  • Evaluate site-specific material characteristics and recommend the appropriate screen media, screen sizing, and crushing configurations
  • Analyze material gradation reports and make data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and product specification compliance
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with service teams.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and present appropriate product solutions
  • Provide in-depth product demonstrations and application insights that highlight competitive advantages.
  • Assist in closing deals by reinforcing technical benefits and addressing customer concerns
  • Offering pre- and post-sale machine application support to dealers, contractors, and end-users
  • Troubleshoot application challenges and provide recommendations based on best practices
  • Conduct on-site visits to support product trials, commissioning, or optimizing operational performance
  • Frequently visit client job sites to offer hands-on technical assistance, assess equipment performance, and strengthen customer relationships through in-person engagement
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and competitive equipment
  • All other duties assigned
