About The Position
The Information Technology Department supports the diverse technology needs of all City of Amarillo departments. As an Application Specialist I, you’ll support the internal development team in building and supporting custom applications, implementing and integration of enterprise systems, and maintaining and supporting the city’s web presence including the city’s AI Digital Human. This team supports various software systems, including Workday HCM and Finance, eDocs Document Management and Retention, Kronos Workforce Telestaff, NGINX, and custom applications developed in Ruby and Python on Ubuntu Linux servers. Successful candidates will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, base knowledge of software development with Ruby, Python and SQL, sound judgement, and excellent customer service skills. It calls for a willingness to constantly learn and adapt, follow through on tasks, and uphold high standards by prioritizing quality and integrity in your work.
