The Applications Development department manages the Firm’s enterprise software, business intelligence systems, and integrations, providing top-tier support for related issues. The Application Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intake and workflow solutions using the Intapp Open platform, ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise systems. This role may also support additional application platforms and enterprise systems as part of the broader Application Solutions team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in XML, SQL, and PowerShell for scripting and data integration.
  • Comfortable with OS-level scripting languages such as PowerShell, batch files, shell scripts, or others.
  • Strong knowledge of workflow automation, data integration, and user interface customization.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based environments.
  • Understanding of client onboarding, compliance, and risk management workflows in law firms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Quick learner of technologies and adaptable to scope changes.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours with little notice.
  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Intapp Open products (e.g., Open Intake, Conflicts, Terms).
  • Deep experience with Intapp Integration Builder (IIB).
  • Deep experience with API integrations using REST or SOAP.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with legal or professional services firm environments.
  • Experience with Boomi or other enterprise integration platforms.
  • Experience developing and maintaining workflows and custom forms within Intapp.
  • Experience integrating with financial and document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and configure workflows and forms using the Intapp Open platform (including Intake, Conflicts, and/or Terms).
  • Customize and configure business rules, validations, and data mapping for client/matter intake processes.
  • Lead or contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) for Intapp Open critical incidents, documenting findings and implementing preventative solutions.
  • Integrate Intapp Open with internal systems such as financial systems (e.g., Aderant), directory services (e.g., Active Directory), and other internal data sources or databases.
  • Support and maintain existing Intapp workflows and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Participate in Intapp architectural reviews and provide input on system design decisions related to infrastructure and integrations.
  • Collaborate with Intapp Open business analysts, stakeholders, and end users to gather requirements and enhance system functionality.
  • Document Intapp Open design specifications, configuration settings, and custom components.
  • Participate in Intapp Open testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Stay current with Intapp Open product updates and best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours system issues.
  • Provide cross-training to Application Solutions team members on Intapp Open functionality and back-end architecture to ensure adequate backup and team-wide support.
  • Assist with evaluating and optimizing other firm-supported software and integrations as assigned.
  • Support general application administration and technical troubleshooting outside of Intapp Open as needed.
  • Contribute to project planning and process improvement efforts that involve cross-platform solutions or non-Intapp enterprise systems.
  • Help document operational procedures, contribute to application-related knowledge bases, and identify areas for automation across the team’s broader responsibilities.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with peers, superiors, and cross-functional teams on support-related tasks and ongoing initiatives.
  • Follow CIO Organization and Application Development team standards, processes, and governance policies (e.g., change management, security, compliance).
