About The Position

Overview Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Application & Server Automation Engineer to support a major national laboratory. The successful candidate shall have experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. Experience in UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows Operating System (OS), including file management, scripting, editing, and security. Experience with a variety of programming languages, software, or tools to develop regular or ad-hoc queries from large datasets. Familiar with network communication protocols, and other related protocols. Ability to implement solutions integrating Rest application program interface (API) based web services. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance for various Custom-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. Support the IT Support and Application Administration duties of the team and help to customize COTS applications for users and programs. Bring COTS automation expertise to the team Participate as a developer on this Agile Scrum team Work collaboratively and efficiently with the team to deliver high-quality products Participate in Scrum events such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective Write code and scripts for automation and customization of COTS applications Provide IT Support and Application Administration of COTS applications Create and maintain documentation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years or more of relevant experience The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance Must be US Citizen Required Skills: Strong Linux system administration experience Expert in Ansible configuration management Significant experience with Javascript Willing to be on-site 3 days a week to meet mission deliverables and service level agreement requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Preferred skills and qualifications Active DOE L or Q clearance Experience with Git source code management Familiar with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices Experience with COTS applications and their administration and deployment across various environments DOORS Next or Cameo/MagicDraw experience Custom report development experience Knowledge of OpenShift Deployment or Cloud technologies Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira About Us: Edgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located in Frederick, MD. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years or more of relevant experience
