The Application(s) Project Manager at South Central Regional Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of assigned applications within the EPIC department. This role involves coordinating activities, managing project scope, schedule, and quality, and ensuring effective communication among team members and stakeholders. The manager will also provide guidance, support, and motivation to the team while aligning organizational needs with application capabilities.

  • Maintaining scope, schedule, and quality in their specific application area or team.
  • Setting clear expectations for team members, including defining what they should do at each phase of a given project.
  • Working closely with the project director and other project managers to coordinate activities.
  • Ensuring that non-Epic stakeholders are engaged in the project.
  • Advising and coaching team members by providing guidance on issues, key success factors, and lessons learned.
  • Sharing with team members the positive effects of innovation and system capabilities.
  • Reinforcing the importance of department initiatives and providing consistent communication to the team.
  • Organizing resources within the organization.
  • Motivating and showing appreciation for the team.
  • Appropriately matching team member skills to team responsibilities.
  • Managing from an organizational perspective while attending to detailed tasks.
  • Assisting as a support contact for their area, identifying and troubleshooting issues.
  • Guiding workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing technical issues associated with Epic (Wisconsin) software.
  • Serving as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic (Wisconsin) staff.
  • Maintaining regular communication with Epic (Wisconsin) representatives.
  • Working with Epic (Wisconsin) representatives and organization stakeholders to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs including deliverables and timelines.
  • Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows.
  • Participating in training and working with end users.
  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
  • Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
  • Owning integrated efforts that span multiple applications such as BCA, Cutover, HODs, etc.
  • Degree/certification in operational or clinical area of origin.
  • Prior project management experience, preferred.
  • Attain assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrating flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs.

  • The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

  • The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems.

  • Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence.
