The Application Processor plays a key role in managing incoming documentation by sorting, screening, scanning, and processing applications with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of handling high-volume mail and imaging equipment, resolving errors, and ensuring accurate data capture and document management in accordance with established procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Windsor Mill, MD
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions, both internal and external.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately screen and assess incoming mail.
  • Proficiency in reviewing scanned documents and performing data entry from images.
  • Experience operating high-volume scanning equipment and related imaging software.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Mail Handling & Document Intake
  • Receive, sort, open, and count incoming mail and application materials.
  • Track mail receipts and establish the standard Date of Receipt for each submission.
  • Use high-volume mail equipment to manage incoming correspondence efficiently.
  • Open mail to assess content and determine routing based on document type and content.
  • Screen incoming applications for completeness based on required field data; return incomplete or invalid applications to the sender with an explanatory letter.
  • Document Scanning & Archiving
  • Sort and prepare application materials and correspondence for scanning.
  • Operate high-volume scanning and imaging equipment to digitize documents.
  • Perform document indexing and data entry from scanned images.
  • Archive scanned documentation in appropriate systems; retrieve original hard copies as needed.
  • Error Resolution & Communication
  • Review and resolve application errors by verifying data and ensuring completeness.
  • Contact external providers via phone or email for clarification on application details.
  • Draft written correspondence requesting additional information as needed.
  • Track and follow through on error-prone applications until resolution is achieved.
  • Respond to incoming inquiries related to the error resolution process.
