About The Position

This position is an entry level position in the PVC additives group and is the first step in promotion to other technical roles within the group. The person holding this position must be capable of self-managing multiple projects to meet deadlines, performing testing accurately and consistently, and reporting results.

Requirements

• Holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Polymer Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or closely related field
• Has the ability to travel for training and complaint resolution.
• Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills along with attention to detail
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Holds an advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Polymer Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or closely related field
• 3 years’ industry experience
• Six Sigma and DOE experience
• Understands stage gate methodology for commercialization and technical development
• Experience with ISO and Quality Systems and Assurance programs

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of the Plastics Application Lab
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate applications lab equipment as needed
• Perform applications testing as directed and report results
• Assist with raw material evaluations
• Assist with making and shipping customer samples
• Prepare samples for internal testing
• Assist technical staff in developing new test methods
• Perform testing as needed for production issues
• Responsible for adhering to the Quality Management System
