Requirements

  • Undergraduate students who are completing their sophomore or junior year in an Engineering discipline like Chemical, Material Science or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Basic Understanding of Adhesives: Familiarity with adhesive chemistry, principles of adhesion, and various adhesive types is a plus.
  • Laboratory Skills: Proficient in standard lab techniques, including chemical handling and operation of benchtop equipment.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct tests, analyze data, and troubleshoot adhesive performance issues.
  • Safety Awareness: Committed to following laboratory safety protocols and working safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience by working on independent projects in the Application Center that directly impact customer solutions.
  • Conduct and optimize laboratory test methods to evaluate the physical and performance properties of adhesive products.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment such as viscometers, tensile testers, 3D printers, and small-scale packaging lines.
  • Accurately collect, record, and analyze experimental data; assist in preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of innovative adhesive solutions for the packaging and labeling industry.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including networking events and mentorship programs to build technical and soft skills.
