Requirements

  • An undergraduate, master’s, graduate or MBA student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Packaging Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Hands-On Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with a wide variety of lab and testing equipment for both application development and performance testing
  • Mechanical & Chemical Knowledge: Ability to work with machines, sensors, electronic components, inks, coatings, and adhesives
  • Analytical Thinking: Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), optimization techniques, and structured problem-solving approaches
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; able to navigate and utilize various databases effectively
  • Lab Experience: Prior lab experience is preferred, with a willingness to learn and follow safety protocols
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Eagerness to learn new equipment and processes with full training provided; proactive and self-motivated in a technical environment

Responsibilities

  • Gaining valuable industry engineering experience in the printing, coating and electronics world
  • Get hands on experience printing, processing and designing circuitry and printing processes while solving real customer problems
  • Support the local and global team in Printed Electronics as we grow in key initiatives: Energy Storage (battery production), Smart Healthcare/Medical, Debonding, Antenna (RFID and Large format, LEO/Space), and Smart Surfaces (heaters, capacitive touch sensors, etc)
  • Develop and manage experiments and customer projects on the ATMA conductive ink industrial printer, the environmental chambers, the 3D printer, and Voltera extrusion applicators in the lab in Bridgewater, NJ
  • Work with the local Business Development and Applications Engineering team to select, prepare and ship ink and coating samples to customers
  • Follow up on these samples/projects as part of the technical team supporting new business development
  • Design and execute application related experimentation with our new/recently commercialized products
  • Attend TechBlick with the Printed Electronics team (California), visit various Henkel sites (Irvine, CA, Rocky Hill, CT, and Madison Heights, MI) if desired and aligned with experiment goals or topics
