About The Position

The Application Engineering Co-op position at Regal Rexnord involves assisting other application engineers and performing failure analysis on bearing products. The role includes participating in on-site customer visits to provide support for specific applications, product installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The co-op will attend training schools for bearing products and applications to distributors, assist in the creation of competitor benchmarking test plans, and help develop new or improved technologies for bearing products. Additionally, the co-op will assist in designing test machines and procedures for benchmark testing, support product analysis during and after new product development or benchmark testing, and update engineering technical information related to catalogs, brochures, and website data. The position also involves solving routine problems and supporting product engineering projects as identified in the co-op project plan.

Requirements

• Ability to adjust to varying priorities and project lists
• CAD skills preferred (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro-E, Solid Edge)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Technically inclined with a preferred hands-on ability
• Verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all levels of employees, management, and customers
• Self-motivated, capable of working with a sense of urgency
• Strong analytical skills, decision making, and critical thinking

Responsibilities

• Assist other application engineers and perform failure analysis on bearing products as assigned
• Participate in on-site customer visits with other application engineers to provide support for specific applications, product installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Attend training schools for bearing products and applications to distributors
• Assist in the competitor benchmarking test plan creation and development of new/modified/improved technologies aimed at bearing products
• Assist in the design of test machines and procedures for benchmark testing
• Support product analysis during and after new product development or benchmark testing
• Update engineering technical information related to catalogs, brochures, and website data
• Assist in solving routine problems with an aptitude for basic problem-solving skills
• Support product engineering projects
• Complete other projects as identified in the co-op project plan
