After gaining knowledge of our environment, there is the opportunity for this position to work under our Hybrid schedule working both in the office and remotely.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fiber optic systems design and technology skills preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge fiber optics field support.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Ability to develop in-depth product knowledge and understanding of the product application of all AFL products.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or on a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong customer relationships.
  • Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve even the most challenging environments with limited supervision.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong presentations and technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Good organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive integration of product solutions for Hyperscale, Enterprise and Service Provider Markets.
  • Support development of new technologies with R&D and Product Management Teams.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned product groups.
  • Provides Technical support to Sales Team (direct sales staff and AFL agents).
  • Provides Technical support for Customer Service group.
  • Provides Technical Training for customers and sales personnel.
  • Provide On-site installation support and contractor supervision.
  • Develop and write application notes and practices of 'system solutions'.
  • Investigate new customer technology direction and provide feedback to product groups.
  • Manage support for beta test and field trials of AFL products.
  • Identify potential new product opportunities based on customer application needs.
  • Provides input on product development to Product Line Manager and Design Engineering to ensure form, fit and function of new products from the customer perspective.
  • Promote AFL industry leadership by publishing trade articles.
