Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical) or Paper/Computer Science required.
• 4+ years of QCS application experience in the Pulp and Paper industry required.
• Fluent in written and verbal English, Spanish a plus.
• Experience working with any Distributed Control Systems.
• Experience working with any PLC equipment.
• Previous Industrial Automation Experience a plus.
• VMWare vSphere knowledge preferred.
• Travel up to 30% may be required.
• VMWare Workstation knowledge.
• Networking knowledge.
• Experience working with Function Blocks, Structured Text, Ladder Logic preferred.
• Experience installing and configuring Windows Server Operating Systems, Windows Workstation operating systems, and active directory preferred.
• Experience configuring networks and switches including VLANs preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting networks and using network troubleshooting tools preferred.
• Experience configuring storage hardware preferred.
• Using Visual Studio, specifically C#.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity.
• Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner.
• Apply basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects.
• Utilize checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
