Would you like to help Automotive OEM and Tier1 accelerate their product development? We are looking for a simulation application engineer for our North American team. You will be responsible for helping customers with all the aspects of vehicle development and the use of VI-grade software suite. This includes multiple areas of application from Vehicle Dynamics and Motorsport to ADAS/AV, HMI, NVH and Hardware-in-the-Loop. This position includes providing technical engineering support during the pre- and post-sales process, presenting formal training courses, and providing engineering consulting services. VI-grade is part of HBK’s “In Simulation and Validation” division, which focuses on providing real-time software, simulator, and hardware-in-the-loop solutions to virtually test products throughout the development cycle, helping companies accelerate innovation and reduce time-to-market, and improve their competitive advantage. The future Application Engineer will be primarily responsible for: understanding clients' technical and engineering needs, translating these into VI-grade´s solution portfolio. supporting the Sales Team in maximizing sales revenues and meeting corporate objectives for all VI-grade solutions dedicated to the automotive industry

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (MS or PhD degree is a plus)
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics simulation and MATLAB Simulink.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environments and situations, traveling mostly within North America to support the team and our customers.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with key clients as well as internally, effectively networking and building trust and confidence among partners, customers, and peers
  • A passion for helping engineers learn and use software to overcome technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Excellent technical presentation and communication skills.
  • Interest in working in a commercial environment supporting the sale and use of engineering software.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and eager to learn.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with VI-grade tools or similar software (e.g. Adams, Simpack, Dymola, etc) is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with all aspects of simulation and the use of VI-grade software and simulators.
  • Pre-sales customer facing activities
  • Investigate and understand customers’ needs
  • Demonstrate VI-grade software to potential customers as a solution to those needs, highlighting solutions and benefits.
  • Post-sales support and service-oriented activities
  • Answer technical questions that existing customers have about simulation and simulators.
  • Conduct training courses on VI-grade software and simulators.
  • Provide post-sales technical support for VI-grade users via phone, email, and web.
  • Provide engineering consulting services regarding simulation.
  • Product-focused activities
  • Act as the voice of customer (VoC) to provide user feedback to HBK’s product management team on future software and simulator functionalities.
