About The Position

cFocus Software seeks an Application Engineer to join our program supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). This position is remote. This position requires the ability a Public Trust clearance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in a DoD or federal environment.
• Experience with Agile and DevSecOps development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with application servers, web services, and middleware technologies.
• Experience supporting application integration, APIs, and data exchanges.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
• Experience using tools such as JIRA, Git, ServiceNow, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD CAC and required background investigation

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain DSAID application components across development, test, training, and production environments.
• Support application sustainment, maintenance, and enhancement activities in accordance with the DMDC Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Implement application changes approved through the DSAID Change Control Board (CCB).
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, and Database teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support Agile development activities including sprint planning, daily scrums, code reviews, and release planning.
• Develop and maintain application interfaces, APIs, and data exchange mechanisms.
• Support DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 help desk tickets.
• Ensure applications comply with DoD cybersecurity, RMF, STIG, Section 508, and privacy requirements.
• Develop and maintain application documentation, technical designs, runbooks, and release notes.
• Support system modernization, cloud migration, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to support ATO, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring activities.
