About The Position

Within Aeroflow, the Internal Engineering team serves the entire organization by building and maintaining the systems that power daily operations. The team is comprised of engineers and analysts with strengths in VBA, Microsoft Access, SQL, and supporting application technologies, working closely with business stakeholders across departments. Engineers work directly with internal users, see the impact of their work quickly, and play a key role in stabilizing and evolving systems the organization depends on every day. This role is well-suited for an engineer with strong VBA and Access experience who wants to grow into a broader application engineering role over time, while still doing meaningful work today. This team focuses on: Improving operational efficiency through automation and tooling Supporting business-critical internal applications Solving high-impact, real-world problems that directly affect teams and patients This is a hybrid role , requiring regular in-person collaboration alongside focused remote work.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with VBA in a production environment
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access (forms, reports, queries, modules)
Comfort reading, understanding, and modifying existing codebases
Familiarity with SQL concepts (joins, filtering, aggregations)
Basic to intermediate experience with C#, sufficient to understand and extend existing logic
Experience debugging production issues and supporting business users
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams
Analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability
Attention to detail with solid time-management skills
Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Nice To Haves

Experience working on cross-departmental projects requiring strong business context
Familiarity with .NET patterns or Windows-based applications
Exposure to version control systems (Git or similar)
Interest in or exposure to modern application development (APIs, services, frontend frameworks)
Experience working with complex datasets or supporting analytics workflows

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain VBA-driven applications, primarily in Microsoft Access
Modify and extend existing systems with a focus on reliability, clarity, and maintainability
Write readable, well-structured VBA code with appropriate error handling and documentation
Collaborate with SQL developers, analysts, and business partners to clarify requirements and edge cases
Read, understand, and interface with SQL data to support business logic
Contribute to incremental refactoring and reduction of technical debt
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with a learning mindset
Use C# when appropriate for supporting tools, integrations, or gradual modernization efforts
Identify risks, limitations, or unclear requirements early and communicate them clearly
Develop and maintain clear technical documentation for systems and business logic
