ST is excited to welcome an Applications Engineer Intern at our office located in Santa Clara, CA. The Application Engineer Intern's primary responsibility will be to support Global Key Account (GKAC) customers developing projects with Microcontrollers by providing the following: Demo application(s), Benchmarking, Technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • General knowledge (university level) in at least one of the following fields: Inverters (firmware FOC), On Board Charging (OBC) and Power Conversion (PFC, DC/DC), Battery Management (SOC, SOH)
  • Experience with ARM based microcontrollers (STM32 is a good starting point) is preferred
  • Programming language knowledge (C is a must, Assembly is an advantage)
  • Software and hardware debugging skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication networks - ETH, CAN
  • Familiarity with other peripherals - Timers (mainly for PWM), ADC (SAR), SPIQ, UART, GPIOs
  • Competent usage of the oscilloscope required
  • Ability to read and understand circuit schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets
  • Knowledge of Python and Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Fluent English (Italian and/or French is a plus)

  • Support Global Key Account (GKAC) customers developing projects with Microcontrollers

  • Conduct benchmarking
  • Create technical documentation
