About The Position

The Application Engineer II position at First Citizens Bank & Trust Company is a remote role focused on the planning, problem resolution, and advanced production support for multiple high-priority bank applications. The role involves providing expert guidance and mentorship on application technical support, maintenance, and enhancement, as well as overseeing the installation, configuration, and daily administration of vendor-supplied software. The engineer will monitor application performance, address technical issues, and may supervise less experienced associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Application Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Application Engineering.
  • Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services.
  • Experience with Collibra, Tableau, IDQ, IICS, Redwood, BODS, and BOXI.

Responsibilities

  • Leads efforts to implement, integrate, upgrade, and support technical systems that execute business applications.
  • Responsible for assigned technical areas including LDAP, LINUX, WebSphere, data backups, and purging.
  • Resolves complex problems and failures that occur in assigned applications and systems.
  • Leads disaster recovery plans for assigned applications.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge base of primary application, interface applications, and system integrations through ongoing research and education.
  • Manages special or advanced technical projects.
  • Develops and oversees a comprehensive testing plan.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and determines user needs.
  • Verifies the successful implementation of software, patches, and upgrades.
  • Utilizes end user feedback and requests to develop system improvements that impact applications.
  • Determines solutions for known issues and business needs.
  • Coordinates with interface applications and other business units to verify request definitions, then makes appropriate system configuration or parameter changes.
