About The Position

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Application Engineer II to join our team, ensuring that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. The Application Engineer II will participate in the development and deployment of Data Warehouse and BI products aligned to the business's strategic plans. This role requires a strong understanding of clinical and/or financial healthcare data and processes to support various Accounting, Financial Reporting, and CMS processes. The candidate will work closely with the business and other development teams, effectively communicating complex ideas and managing tactical decision-making processes. The role emphasizes quality of work, attention to detail, and maintaining strong relationships with business partners and product users.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical experience.
• Bachelor's degree required, or comparable experience may be considered.
• Strong analytical and design skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working on agile teams.
• General expertise in data acquisition, data cleansing, and parsing.
• General expertise in data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Experience with data technologies such as Google BigQuery, Teradata Vantage, Oracle, SQL Server.
• Understanding of MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Power BI, or other Enterprise BI tools.
• Experience with ETL and development tools such as Teradata Protocol Transport, SSIS, Python, and PowerShell.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Clinical and Financial Applications.
• Knowledge of EMR or Practice Management Systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, GE Centricity, NextGen.
• Experience in the design of products to align with customer strategic plans.
• Ability to resolve complex issues creatively.
• Experience with a variety of Database Management Systems (DBMS) especially Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza.
