The Application Engineer at Cook Medical is responsible for configuring, implementing, and documenting applications that meet the specifications and business requirements of the company, particularly focusing on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. This role involves integrating Oracle Fusion Cloud with existing legacy and third-party applications, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance, while also providing ongoing support and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment, possess strong communication skills, and be driven to enhance their Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP expertise.

  • Work as part of a project team to define and document solutions for various projects.
  • Technical responsibility for all stages of solution configuration to ensure compliance with application and architectural standards.
  • Develop and maintain current state documentation and deliverables for solutions.
  • Maintain existing and new applications to ensure they meet user needs.
  • Provide assistance to operational teams to ensure continuity of service.
  • Work with the Application Engineering community to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and preventative measures to avoid recurring issues.
  • Ensure a smooth transition during upgrades by testing new releases in a sandbox environment.
  • Support user training by creating documentation and leading training sessions as applicable.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with enterprise application configuration and implementation.
  • Experience with integrations between applications and databases.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud applications and cloud architecture.
  • Experience with integration tools such as Oracle Integration Cloud, REST APIs, and SOAP web services.
  • Proficiency in database management, including Oracle Database concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with software development or scripting languages, preferably Python or Shell.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
  • Experience with customizing workflows, reports, and user interfaces to fit unique business processes.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and API management.
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to system errors and performance bottlenecks.
