Application Development Lead
About The Position
The Application Development Lead at State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston, Massachusetts, will serve as a senior lead across multiple front office project and data delivery initiatives. This role focuses on leveraging new technologies and innovative solutions for the business. The position involves analyzing, designing, and developing software applications, providing technical expertise and solutions with minimal management guidance, and resolving complex technical issues. The lead will also be responsible for preparing documentation, recommending industry best practices, and managing junior application developers. Hybrid-remote telecommuting is permitted. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 7 years of experience as an Application Developer or in another occupation/title providing related experience
- Proven ability to work in a team of agile developers and ability to provide agile status notes on day-to-day project tasks
- Proven experience working on complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, scrum leads, developers and managers
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, HTML, JSON, Microservices, PL/SQL
- Solid ability with messaging technologies such as Kafka and MQ
- Demonstrated end-to-end understanding of software architecture, design, development and implementation
- Proven experience with continuous integration and build process, test automation and deployment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience writing, reviewing technology documents including user guides

- Control and/or provide solutions to single and/or multiple organizations, with minimal management guidance
- Provide technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications to project schedule
- Provide technical subject matter expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues
- Be responsible for resolution, communication, and escalation of critical technical issues
- Prepare user and systems documentation as needed
- Identify and recommend Industry best practices
- Manage other more junior application developers
