What you will gain Our Summer Internship Program, beginning in June 2026, provides immersive training and introduction to Santander. You will be combining this training with practical experience on both technical and interpersonal skills, helping your development during the internship. The 2026 Santander Summer Internship Program is for undergraduate students and/or graduate level students who have an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May/June 2027. Santander US is a nationwide business with locations across the country. This position is located in Dallas, TX. • The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location. Salary: $67,600/year Before applying, please keep in mind that our internship program does not offer any relocation assistance. As an application development intern, you will come out of this experience with an understanding of how enterprise software is designed, built, and maintained at scale. You will gain direct knowledge of modern development practices, including Agile workflows, version control, and code review processes, and could include exposure to cloud technologies like AWS, API integrations, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll learn how to collaborate within a professional development team, troubleshoot real-world issues, and contribute to the delivery of features that support business-critical platforms.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between either December 2026 or May/June 2027.
  • Area of Study: Information Technology or related field
  • Cumulative GPA is 3.0 or above.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage.
  • Strong English communication skills both written and spoken required.
  • Analytical thinkers with a strong attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently on special projects.
  • Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in or exposure to Computer Science, finance, economics, or business. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with at least one modern programming language (e.g., .Net, React, Angular) (Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and how services communicate (Preferred)
  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub) (Preferred)
  • Experience with writing unit tests or using testing frameworks (Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to ask questions and take initiative

Responsibilities

  • Contributed to the development and testing of features within the originations platform, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Assisted in building and debugging API integrations for partner systems, helping improve data accuracy and reduce processing delays.
  • Participated in daily standups, sprint planning, and code reviews, gaining hands-on experience with Agile development practices.
  • Wrote unit and integration tests to support system stability and ongoing CI/CD efforts.
  • Collaborated with senior developers to identify and resolve bugs in production and staging environments.
  • Documented technical processes and code updates to support team knowledge sharing and onboarding.
