What You’ll Do: We are seeking an Application Developer to provide technical competencies and systems knowledge in support of our applications. This person will be a developer for distributed systems within the Life Company. This includes system administration, report creation, data base design, and implementation of data extraction and transformation processes.
The Application Developer will conduct research and maintain high level of knowledge in systems software/hardware to ensure operations and implementations are of the highest quality.
This position is located in our West Des Moines, Iowa office, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) after 90 days.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent, plus 2-5 years relevant experience required.
• C# and .NET experience.
• Experience with distributed development and strong understanding of the development lifecycle.
• Must understand the inter-relationship between business and technology needs.
• Knowledge of multiple IT platforms, best practices and a familiarity of current application development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in the office at least 3 days a week (hybrid model)

Nice To Haves

• XML and SQL experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and maintain existing applications as per specifications including developing application code, testing completed applications, and developing required documentation as defined by company development standards.
• Conduct research and maintain high level of knowledge in systems software/hardware to ensure operations and implementations are of the highest quality. Assist the business with process improvements where needed.
• Keep Application Development Manager, Project Manager, and team members informed on status of deliverables.
• Design technology configurations to satisfy business requirements and create, execute and maintain project plans for life systems.
