About The Position

The Application Data Specialist reviews, analyzes, and refines data in order to routinely assist in the delivery of insightful, actionable, and timely reporting. The job duties include analyzing, testing, debugging, and documenting requirements for new or existing items such as reports and dashboards. They are responsible for coordinating and communicating with other IS resources and business stakeholders to deliver quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, computer science, industrial engineering or related field required.
  • Experience analyzing, documenting, and recommending business process flows and requirements.
  • Ability to validate data, assess data quality and support solution implementations to improve processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated team and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of industry coding (CPT, ICD10, Revenue Code, etc.) preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Access skills.
  • 1+ Years experience in performing statistical and strategic analyses.
  • Knowledge of MicroStrategy or similar data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates process efficiencies, conducts requirements analysis, gathers objective performance data, and conducts data analysis, shares findings and partners with operations and IS to build solutions to meet the business needs.
  • Work with vendors and act as liaison for business users to fulfill data requests.
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests for data by determining users' needs and collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to provide actionable reports.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with other departments to support application projects and resolve issues.
  • Builds working, interactive, collaborative and influential relationships with business operators and application teams.
  • Gains a thorough understanding of outpatient line of business including operational and clinical processes and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
