What you'll do: Partner with product leaders, development teams and other architects to prepare designs, solutions and strategies that help us get the most value from the technology we purchase and create. Maintain and awareness of evolving technical landscapes and industry trends and leverage this knowledge as a technical leader to help development teams strategize and design early, several steps ahead of development. Work as a key technical leader and direct contributor to the work necessary to deliver on our product goals. Develop new applications and feature enhancements leveraging your skills and expertise with Java/J2EE, Springboot, Jenkins, OpenShift and other tools and technologies. Devise strategies to improve our ability to keep our systems current, compliant, secure, stable and able to deliver the needs of our growing business. Support both vendor-supplied and internally developed custom software. Act as a technical subject matter expert for key systems. Support routine and ad-hoc research and discovery. Support continuous improvement of our products, our team operating cadences and our run-state operations (logging, monitoring, alerting, metrics, level 2, and documenting of knowledge for scalability across the technical team). Work with other technical teams to arrange for technical dependencies and cross-collaboration. Foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles. Inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction (product/agile/devops). Back up the development team as needed and be willing to be an all-around technical utility player.
