About The Position

Accounting and Business tutors will work one-on-one or in small groups with undergraduate students. Tutors are responsible for supporting students' success by creating an optimum learning environment by leading students to a greater understanding of course materials.

Requirements

• Knowledge of student-centered tutoring strategies.
• Must be knowledgeable in the tutoring discipline.
• Experience tutoring and/or teaching at the college level is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and computer skills are necessary.
• Ability to multi-task, collaborate with others, and work independently.
• Be able to analyze student's needs and explain materials in a variety of ways to build confidence and comprehension.
• Must be able to work with students from various socioeconomic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred, in accounting, business, or a related field.
• Teaching and/or tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help students understand and apply underlying principles and help them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare for tutoring by becoming familiar with textbooks, software, and teaching tools used in courses.
• Thoroughly and accurately document tutoring sessions to support reporting requirements.
