About The Position

Actively participates in student learning assessment. Instructs various courses in the Criminal Justice curriculum. Positions are usually open evenings, however, day-time slots are sometimes available. Courses could be face-to-face or web courses. Prepare syllabus according to board policy.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Working knowledge of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  • Working knowledge of the careers in criminal justice.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adhere to student learning outcomes and course goals/objectives.
  • Ability to teach online and in the classroom to students with differing learning styles.
  • Ability to motivate students in online and classroom learning environments.
  • Ability to adopt and incorporate new and innovative teaching elements and technologies into online and classroom courses.
  • Ability to manage online and face-to-face classroom environments.
  • Ability to advise students with course selection.
  • Ability to build and strengthen community relationships in the criminal justice field.
  • Masters degree in Criminal Justice or related field, OR Masters degree plus 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice related topics.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Must be able to work alone and in groups.
  • Must be a self starter and motivator.
  • Must have integrity.
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to think on their feet.
  • Must possess leadership qualities.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidate would have a master’s degree as indicated above and have extensive field experience.
