About The Position

Instructor for the Toledo and / or Findlay campus via face-to-face, hybrid, or synchronous delivery for accounting courses.

Requirements

• Master's degree in the teaching field or related area.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and integration of appropriate practices of teaching to different learning styles.
• Strong skills in written and oral communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and computer use.
• Ability to integrate a variety of methodologies to facilitate student learning.
• Experience in managing a classroom and evaluating student work fairly.

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate in teaching field or Juris Doctorate.
• MBA or related master's degree with 18 semester/27 quarter credit hours in the field.
• Professional certification in the teaching field.
• In-field professional employment with a minimum of two years of documented experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops a syllabus for the class using the assigned syllabus shell.
• Prepares lesson plans and conducts classes during the scheduled times using the Department-approved text(s).
• Follows Department guidelines for course content and best practices.
• Meets classes on all scheduled dates during the assigned semester.
• Uses appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Creates and evaluates assignments, evaluative measures, and activities appropriate to the class.
• Assigns grades to student work and returns graded assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate and thorough records of student attendance.
• Communicates effectively with students and colleagues.
• Attends Department and School meetings as necessary.
• Participates in student learning assessment activities.
