About The Position

The T&D OPERATIONS Department of the T&D OPERATIONS Division at Hawaiian Electric Company is currently establishing an applicant pool, from which qualified applicants may be considered for a full-time Electric Quality Control Expert position vacancy on Oahu, Maui, or Hawaii Island. Additional information will be provided after applications are reviewed. Current employees would not be considered for this external applicant pool but may apply to an internally posted job requisition when a position vacancy becomes available.

Requirements

• High School or GED Diploma; Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electric utility regulatory requirements.
• Expert knowledge of standard tools used in construction work.
• Knowledge of industry standards, company specifications, and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Graduate of an approved USDOL Electrical Lineman apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Preferred certifications: ASQ Quality Improvement Specialist, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Safety Professional, Qualified Electrical Worker.

Responsibilities

• Conducts field assessments of Hawaiian Electric's facilities and internal resources.
• Leads teams to ensure the right tools, equipment, and work standards are in place for safe and efficient work.
• Inspects and verifies the quality of construction work to ensure compliance with standards.
• Travels to various work locations to ensure the safety of personnel and that they are trained and equipped.
• Partners with the Standards team to utilize the safest and most efficient means to construct T&D facilities.
• Audits completed supervisor work packages and ensures proper job closure and documentation.
• Participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned.
