In other words, you’ll need to be fairly knowledgeable about large appliances, portable appliances, mechanical work, as well as electrical work. You’ll deal with more than just appliances, though, as a repair technician, you’ll have to deal with people, too. Appliance repair technicians must also have skills in high mechanical aptitude, have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, work adeptly with repair tools, be okay with lifting heavy machinery, and of course, be incredibly skilled in troubleshooting problems. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
At least 18 years old
Comfortable using a tablet and mobile technology
Able to lift up to 100 lbs safely and perform physical tasks under varied conditions

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair home appliances accurately and efficiently
Provide clear, upfront cost estimates to customers
Collect payments or payment information for completed work
Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and properly care for tools and parts
Complete daily route sheets, invoices, and reports in a timely manner
Occasionally assist with related tasks or cross-training as needed
