About The Position

Our Appliance Repair Technician's are at the center of what we do at Omega Force Appliance Repair. Our technicians are the face of the company and the primary source of our success. Technicians perform in-home field service for a range of customers and home appliances. As an appliance repair technician, you’ll work with anything from dishwashers to microwaves to dryers. In other words, you’ll need to be fairly knowledgeable about large appliances, portable appliances, mechanical work, as well as electrical work. You’ll deal with more than just appliances, though, as a repair technician, you’ll have to deal with people, too. Appliance repair technicians must also have skills in high mechanical aptitude, have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, work adeptly with repair tools, be okay with lifting heavy machinery, and of course, be incredibly skilled in troubleshooting problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with in-home appliance repair on a full range of consumer appliances is required.
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record sufficient to clear insurance assessment.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Driving to multiple customer homes daily to conduct repairs on refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, microwaves, washers and dryers.
  • Diagnosis of symptoms by evaluating function, tracing electrical circuits, using diagnostic tools, using multi-meters, performing mechanical evaluations, researching common failures and technical documents.
  • Respecting customers home environment.
  • Communicating with customers professionally to understand their appliance issues, present findings, present quotes, schedule follow up visits and close sales.
  • Performing research using a variety of technical resources to identify parts or repair processes.
  • Contacting and communicating with in-house and external technical support resources where needed.
  • Ordering, tracking and receiving parts to conduct repairs and replenish van stock.
  • Using job tracking software to research and record all aspects of service visits and repair status.
  • Informing customers of available added services such as dryer vent cleaning, preventive maintenance and appliance protection plans.
