And so much more.​      ​Come break through with us.    The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.  Scope/Purpose of Position: The Apple Engineer is a technical expert responsible for managing and optimizing the use of Apple devices within the organization. This role focuses on the implementation, support, and maintenance of Jamf Pro to ensure efficient and effective management of the Mac fleet. The Apple Engineer will ensure that all Apple devices perform optimally and meet the needs of the users. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Apple Engineer will design and implement solutions that enhance user satisfaction, productivity, and engagement. This includes developing custom configurations, automating routine tasks, and providing comprehensive technical support. By continuously monitoring device performance and gathering employee feedback, the Apple Engineer will proactively identify and address areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • At least 7 years of experience in managing Apple devices in a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience with Jamf Pro
  • Expertise in Jamf Pro administration. (Jamf 300 or higher preferred)
  • Experience understanding and writing complex scripts in AppleScript and using APIs to establish automation-driven processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc. a plus
  • Familiarity with other MDM solutions and virtual technologies.
  • Experience with all macOS and related Apple technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Apple Platform Security and the macOS Security Compliance Project
  • Managing Office 365 Apps on Mac
  • Ability to create detailed processes and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Jamf Pro Management: Administer and maintain the Jamf Pro MDM solution, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
  • Custom Solutions: Develop and deploy custom configurations, policies, and profiles for Mac devices using Jamf Pro.
  • Automation: Utilize scripting to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Support: Provide technical support and act as an escalation point for issues related to Apple devices and Jamf Pro.
  • Field Team Support: Provide Mac support to field teams, ensuring they have the necessary tools and assistance to perform their duties effectively.
  • iPad and iOS Management: Manage and support iPads and iOS devices, ensuring they are configured and maintained according to organizational standards (using Intune).
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor the health and performance of Apple devices using Jamf Pro.
  • Improvement Plans: Develop and implement proactive improvement plans to enhance the user experience for Apple device users.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT service teams to deploy strategies that enhance the user experience for employees using Apple devices.
  • Knowledge Base: Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles to assist various teams in supporting Mac devices.
  • Process Documentation: Develop detailed process and technical documentation to ensure consistent and effective support practices.
