Apple Data Platform is looking for a Manager committed to lead our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. Whether you're thinking Site or Service, this SRE organization has ownership of it all. We're as actively involved in the design of the platform, its evolution and overall availability, reliability and scalability. Our SREs are experts on our services from the software running down to the hardware used. As the Manager, you will craft the future of the Apple Data Platform SRE team by being both a product centric and engineering minded leader. You will be responsible for the quality of the customer experience in production and in the ideation, design, and development of what's to come. You will have a proven ability to solve problems whether they require a rapid response or a long term strategy.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of data analytics and storage technologies like Apache Spark, HDFS, S3, and Data Governance systems in large-scale environments.
• Experience with distributed systems in a production operations environment.
• Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages (Golang, Python, bash).
• Experience working with Kubernetes and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and culture.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality.
• Extensive experience leading customer-facing systems in a high uptime 24/7 environment.
• A consistent track record of automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team for Apple Data Platform.
• Ensure the quality of customer experience in production and during the design and development phases.
• Solve problems requiring both rapid responses and long-term strategies.
• Oversee the design, evolution, availability, reliability, and scalability of the platform.
• Manage and mentor a global 24/7 engineering organization.
• Deliver solutions that are maintainable, understandable, and diagnosable.
• Write clear and consumable documentation.
• Collaborate effectively across multiple business and technical teams.
