About The Position

Covenant Health is seeking an Oncology Informatics Analyst to join our Application Staff. This full-time position requires 80 hours per pay period on a day shift. The analyst will support various areas within the Oncology Informatics team, including Medical Oncology clinics, Radiation Oncology centers, Infusion services, and more. The role involves defining, implementing, and supporting software applications while interfacing with end-users and IT groups to resolve application issues. Clinical Oncology experience is highly desired.

Requirements

  • AS in computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years Information Systems or relevant functional area experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical computer operations in a client/server environment.
  • IT Project management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Cerner tools preferred, but not required.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work in a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in performing tasks/projects to meet deadlines.
  • Associate degree and 1 year experience or 2 years previous experience in Health Care IT required.
  • Participation in an after-hours on call rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional/clinical licensure (RN, ARRT, etc.) may be required based on assigned applications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as interface between the user, vendor, and systems programming and operations.
  • Ensure that IT applications are functional, available, and meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
  • Test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
  • Determine root cause of application problems and coordinate solutions among appropriate teams.
  • Document resolution of application issues.
  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develop test models of possible future configurations.
  • Create test plans & scripts.
  • Perform workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
  • Train users and/or IT staff in the interpretation of information systems features and functions.
  • Maximize IT investment by researching user requirements and educating users on system features and limitations.
  • Interface with user community to understand their security and business needs.
  • Ensure user community adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
  • Recommend standard policies and procedures for providing routine service.
  • Coordinate operations of assigned applications and assist with special processing.
  • Assist in operations scheduling.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.
