Role Summary: MetaPhase Consulting is seeking an experienced Appian Developer to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative. The ideal candidate is a hands-on low-code development professional with deep expertise in the Appian platform, business process automation, and scalable application design. This individual will design, build, and enhance Appian applications while collaborating closely with Government stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional delivery teams. The Appian Developer must be a self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, efficient, and maintainable Appian solutions.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required -NO Exceptions as this contract supports a US Government Agency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise applications on the Appian platform
  • Strong hands-on experience with Appian components including SAIL, Process Models, Records, Reports, and Interfaces
  • Experience integrating Appian with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and web services
  • Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts
  • Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale modernization initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and Government stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Appian Certified Associate Developer or Appian Certified Senior Developer
  • Experience with Appian RPA, Appian Portals, or Appian AI/IDP capabilities
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD for low-code platforms
  • Experience supporting Federal IT programs and navigating Government technical and security governance processes

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Appian applications using Appian best practices, including SAIL interfaces, process models, records, and expression rules.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders and business users to gather requirements and translate them into effective Appian-based solutions.
  • Configure and integrate Appian with external systems using web services, APIs, connected systems, and data integrations.
  • Implement role-based security, object-level permissions, and data protections in accordance with Federal security requirements.
  • Support full application lifecycle activities including development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and solution diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous improvement through platform optimization, reusable components, and adherence to Appian and program standards.
